Terms & Conditions


General

1. Femmes First (“FF”) is owned by Empower Asia Pte Ltd (the “Owner”) and organised under its property, RIDEnjoy (the “Event Organiser”).


2. By continuing to access any part of the Event Organiser's Official Website (www.ridenjoy.sg), registering for FF, submitting information to the Event Organiser and/or its relevant business partners, whether for the purpose of registering for FF or otherwise, as well as using any features of the Official Website, you signify that you have read, understood and agree to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data related to FF.


Also, you consent to share personal information with SportSG, a statutory board under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of the Government of Singapore, for the purpose of data analysis, research and marketing.


Further, you hereby expressly agree and consent to the Event Organiser, and/or its relevant business partners to collect, use and disclose your personal data for purposes reasonably required for the conduct and promotion of FF.


3. Completion of the online registration form confirms your (the “Participant”) agreement and acceptance to abide by the Event Organiser's Terms & Conditions ("T&Cs'").


4. Registration for the FF is only confirmed upon payment of the relevant registration fee and issuance of a confirmation slip or receipt.


5. The Participant agrees to: (i) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about himself/herself in the registration form (the “Personal Data”) and (ii) maintain and promptly update the Personal Data to ensure it stays true, accurate, current and complete.


The Event Organiser may contact the Participant from time to time by email and/or SMS/WhatsApp. Any notice sent to the email address and/or SMS/WhatsApp sent to the mobile number registered for FF via the online registration form shall be deemed as received by the Participant. The Participant is advised to check his/her email spam/junk folder and/or SMS/WhatsApp messages from time to time after registering online for FF.


6. If the Participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete or if the Event Organiser has grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Event Organiser may suspend or terminate the Participant’s registration.


7. After registration for FF, there shall be no refund of any registration fees to any Participant who does not in due course take part in FF, for any reason whatsoever.


8. Once registration is confirmed, a Participant is strictly NOT ALLOWED to:

(a) transfer his/her entry to another party; or

(b) participate under other person’s name or number.

 

9. The Event Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these T&Cs from time to time as it deems fit. If there is ambiguity in any of these provisions, the Event Organiser shall be the sole authority to interpret them and in so doing, it may take into account the interests of all affected Participants. Any amendments to these T&Cs will be updated in FF's online registration form on the Official Website.


10. The Event Organiser reserves the right to delay, cancel or change any details of the FF or any component of it at any time without prior notice to the Participants. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participants prior to the day / date of the event.

 

If FF or any component of it is cancelled, there shall be no refund of registration fees paid. The Event Organiser shall not be liable for any consequential loss or inconvenience caused.


11. The Event Organiser reserves the right to amend the FF routes as they deem fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of FF, at any time without prior notice to the Participants.

 

In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participants prior to the day/date of the event. The Event Organiser shall not be liable for any consequential loss or inconvenience caused.


12. The Event Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs, motion pictures, images, recordings or any other record of FF and its Participants, whether in its original or edited format, for any commercial advertising and other promotional purposes linked to FF.

 

13. The Participant agrees to indemnify, defend, covenant not to sue, and hold harmless The Event Organiser and each of its officers, directors, employees, principals, agents and related third-parties, for any losses, costs, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) directly or indirectly relating to or arising from FF.

 

Safety

1. While reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure the Participants’ safety such as safety marshals at the start and end points of the cycling routes to advise the Participants what to do in case of emergencies (thunderstorms, heavy rain, obstructions, heavy traffic, etc.), the Participants takes part in FF at their own risk. The Event Organiser will also send push notification updates via its proprietary app, RIDEnjoy, to update the Participants on the cycling route and weather conditions.


To the greatest extent permitted by the law, the Event Organiser shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, personal injury or death howsoever arising in connection with FF. Each Participant is strongly encouraged to consult his/her medical practitioner prior to the registration of FF and before the actual event day.

 

2. For safety reasons, The Event Organiser restricts the following people from participating in FF:


(a) Expectant mothers. Unless the expectant mothers provide a medical certificate from a qualified gynaecologist in Singapore and certify she is fit to participate in FF. The certificate should be dated within seven days of FF. They must email a digital copy of their medical certificate at least two days before FF to the Event Organiser's email address, ridenjoy@empowerasia.biz


(b) Those with existing medical conditions are to provide a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner to certify they are fit to participate in FF. The certificate should be dated within seven days of FF. They must email a digital copy of their medical certificate at least two days before FF to the Event Organiser's email address, ridenjoy@empowerasia.biz

 

3. The Event Organiser reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice to the Participants, to amend the cycling routes for FF as it deems fit for the safety of the Participants.


In such cases, every reasonable effort will be made to inform Participants prior to the date of FF. The Event Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from or attributable to such changes.


4. Participants must not:

a) Ride without a cycling helmet

b) Ride dangerously or negligently

c) Wear any mobile music device while riding

d) Use hand-held cameras or mobile phones/devices while moving; or

e) Ride pillion with another person or their pets (unless in safety seats with harness).

 

It is also advisable for Participants to wear bright visible clothing to ensure they can clearly be seen by other PCN and road users.


5. Participants are to adhere to the Rules and Code of Conduct by Land Transport Authority and Traffic Police. More details on the Rules and Code of Conduct can be found at the following website:

6. Riders are recommended to adhere to the following when on the route (PCN or road):

- Use of front and rear light to illuminate;

- Ring of bell only when necessary;

- Always keep to the left unless overtaking;

- Do not speed or ride in an inconsiderate manner;

- Do not overtake others in a dangerous manner;

- Always give way to pedestrians and other cyclists;

- Dismount and push when at high pedestrian areas such as traffic crossings, bus stops, covered link ways, etc;

- Slow down to give way to vehicle when approaching car parks accesses;

- Slow down to give way to pedestrians when approaching intersections with pedestrian access;

- Slow down when approaching intersections with limited sight distances;

- Stay on cycling paths where available;

- Do ensure bicycles must have at least one functioning handbrake installed at the front of the bicycle.

- Do not use mobile communication devices while riding

- Observe traffic road rules, light signals, signs and road markings;

- Cycle close to the left side of the road so as not to obstruct vehicles moving at a faster speed;

- Slow down when approaching road openings, bends, junctions, bus stops and pedestrian crossings;

- Do not ride against traffic flow;

- Do not weave through traffic;

- Beware of passengers opening doors when passing a parked car. Keep a safe distance away;

- Do not squeeze between a stopped bus at a bus stop and the kerb;

- Use hand signals to alert drivers and other cyclists when you intend to turn;

- Avoid staying close to the back of turning vehicles or squeezing between the turning vehicle and the kerb;

- Do not cycle across pedestrian crossings. Dismount and push your bicycles;

- Riders are advised to seek shelter during CAT 1 inclement weather;

- Cyclists should not ride on the right of a motor vehicle proceeding in the same direction except when overtaking that motor vehicle;

- Keep to a maximum length of 5 bicycles when riding in groups, which means a maximum of 5 cyclists if riding in single file, or 10 cyclists if riding two abreast;

- Bicycles are to be equipped with a front and back lights which are to be switched on when riding during dark hours (7pm to 7am)


7. A Participant should retire from FF if requested to do so by any member of the official medical staff, Event Officials, and/or security officer.


FF Ride on 20 May

1. Participants who choose "City to Kallang" category (Start: 30 Maxwell Road) and "RIDEnjoy Kallang" (Start: Stadium Riverside Walk) must assemble at their respective starting point based on the period of the day they choose to start their FF ride (morning or afternoon).


Participants who choose to "Start Anywhere" either in the morning or afternoon, are free to cycle from any part of Singapore to the end point by 9am (morning cyclists) or 6pm (afternoon cyclists).


2. Participants are required to download the RIDEnjoy app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and create an account in order for them to start the FF Ride.

 

3. Participants are strongly advised to bring a power bank along for the ride.


4. The Event Organiser will not be responsible for any loss and/or damage to the belongings and items the Participants carry with them for the FF ride and at the Event site at Stadium Riverside Walk. The Event Organiser also reserves the right to open and examine any item or baggage for security purposes.

 

5. The Event Organiser reserves the right to choose or replace any winner of the FF Lucky Draw.
