7 March 2022 (SINGAPORE) – Since its beta launch in mid-December, RIDEnjoy has been embraced by the local cycling community, peaking at No.6 among all free apps on Google Play Store (SG). On Dec 20, it was No.1 Lifestyle iOS app and No.1 Navigation app on Google.

RIDEnjoy utilises GPS location of mobile phones thus allowing users to see the location of other riders via avatars on the map, report real-time incidents like otters spotted or wild dogs ahead, enjoy AR gamification at iconic locations island-wide.

In just 80 days, users surpassed 110,000 km in mileage while enjoying various games and challenges using the RIDEnjoy app. The one-stop mobility lifestyle app utilises OneMap, the authoritative national map of Singapore, empower users to traverse the island via Park Connector Network (PCN) and Islandwide Cycling Network (ICN) routes to collect geo-located points in the RIDEnjoySG blended game.

In addition to climbing the leaderboard to qualify for the Final, participants also earn five different coloured jerseys for their avatars based on their mileage. Top qualifier, 61-year-old retiree Andy Tan, was the first in Singapore to earn a yellow jersey for his avatar after riding over 5,100km in 80 days.

Besides RIDEnjoySG game, participants in Season One of RIDEnjoySG also won prizes in seasonal contests like “RIDEnjoyXmas” (nominate a child to receive their very first bicycle), “Back to School” (submit photo of parent cycling child to school), RideWithBae (cycle and submit couple-photo) and more.

Share #RidePCN photos to win Brompton and Staycay

With March school holidays approaching, organisers today announced a ‘bonus contest’ called “PCN Moments”. From 2 to 19 March 2022, users are encouraged to cycle the PCN like the recently opened 75km-long eastern half of the Round Island Route and share photos with the app’s new Moments feature.

By riding and sharing a photo, all riders, including new users, can enter the Grand Lucky Draw on 20th March, where the top prize is a Brompton bicycle and the runner-up prize is a two-night staycation at Official Hotel, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay Singapore.

“The waiting list to purchase a Brompton is several months long and we know how much Singaporeans love staycations,” explained Kelvin Phang, founder and Chief Joy Officer, RIDEnjoy. “With the new Moments feature, users can now share and comment on photos taken while enjoying the PCN. Those who ride on active mobility devices like power-assisted bicycles, personal mobility devices, personal mobility aids, half-bikes, recliner-bikes, are all welcomed to take part too.”

Cycling Rocks Singapore on 20 March

To mark the conclusion of Season 1 of RIDEnjoySG, the finale event Cycling Rocks will be held at Shimano Cycling World at Singapore Sports Hub.

“Shimano Cycling World is the world’s first Shimano experiential centre to provide content for cycling related lifestyle and education for visitors. We welcome everyone to visit and experience the happiness through the enjoyment of cycling,” said Eugene Koh, Director, Shimano.

FAMILY finalists will face-off in a one-minute Smoothie Bike Challenge, while OPEN and SPORTIVE finalists will ‘compete’ in Makuri Island, one of the virtual worlds in Zwift, to determine who is the fastest rider and overall winner.

The main highlight of Cycling Rocks is a VIP Challenge Race with the likes of Paralympian Steve Tee, actor-host Paul Foster, PCN Cyclist SG co-founder Cheong Tak Wai and more.
